Born from Overwhelm and Necessity
In 2021, TinyOrange started as a side project, born from the frustration of using bloated task management tools. My girlfriend and I had tried everything: Asana, Trello, Jira, Habitica. But we spent more time setting up and maintaining workflows than doing the work.
So we built something radically simpler: just a to-do list in our desktop. No dashboards, no fluff, just a clean, focused interface that helped us get things done.
Grown Through Real Use
What began as a private tool spread organically. Friends, coworkers, and fellow makers started using it. Features like grouping, cross-device sync, and progress notes were added, not because they were cool, but because users asked for them.
